Rouen & Monet's Garden: Saturday 19th – Monday 21st May. Saturday. 06.45. Coach will depart Stevenage and drive directly to the Folkestone Shuttle Terminal, time permitting we will make a stop at the terminal before boarding the 10.20 shuttle. With a stop at the motorway services we will make our way to Rouen and our two star Ibis Hotel Rouen Centre Riva Gauche which is located in the town and near to the river Seine. Rouen is a major port on the River Seine and a visit to the old town with its cobbled streets and timber framed buildings is a must. See the impressive cathedral that Monet captured in so many ways and visit the Fine Arts Museum, one of the finest provincial galleries in France. Sunday. With a final stop at the Shuttle Terminal for a few more French tax paid bargains we will board our train and return home after a wonderful weekend in France! Ypers Battle Field Tour: Friday 1^st – Sunday 3^rd June. This trip offers coach, Ferry Crossing, two nights at the Novotel Ieper Centrum *** with buffet breakfast and coach excursions. Novotel Ieper Centrum is situated in the historical centre of Ieper, close to the Market Square, the In Flanders Fields Museum and the Menin Gate. Every night at 8.00pm (20:00 hours) a moving ceremony takes place under the Menin Gate in Ieper. Up to six members of the regular buglers from the local volunteer Fire Brigade step into the roadway under the memorial arch. They play Last Post, followed by a short silence and then play Reveille. Excursions will include Fromelles: In 2009, archaeologists excavated several mass burial pits at Pheasant Wood near Fromelles. The remains of 250 British and Australian soldiers were recovered from these pits, mass burials made by the Germans after the Battle of Fromelles. Considerable efforts have been made to identify these men, who remains have lain where they were buried together for more than 90 years. This has been a labour involving both the authorities and also many dedicated amateurs, working hard to try and make sure that as many graves in the new cemetery as possible bear a name, and as many families will finally know the exact resting place of their relative. The number of remains discovered was so high that the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) created a new cemetery for their reburial, the first new war graves cemetery to be created by the CWGC since the end of the Second World War. This cemertey is located at the north-west edge of the village, not far from the church and only about a quarter of a mile from Pheasant Wood itself, where the men were buried by the Germans. Disneyland Paris (Bank Holiday) Special: Sunday 3rd – 5th June. 06.45 our coach will depart Stevenage for on ward travel to Folkestone where we board the Le Shuttle for the short crossing to Calais. Upon arrival in Calais we commence the drive through Northern France to Disneyland Paris where, after checking into to the Santa Fe Hotel (on-site) you will be able to head off to the explore Disney Village. Monday: After breakfast make the short walk or board the Disney bus to the Disneyland Park. From riverboat cruises to roller coasters, from Western stage shows to Eastern bazaars - there are over 50 attractions in the five themed lands; Adventureland, Frontierland, Discoveryland, Fantasyland and Main Street USA. Brussels Carpet of Flowers: Friday 17th - Saturday 19th August 2012. Friday: 07.00 our coach will depart Stevenage for on ward travel to Dover for the short ferry crossing, where you can take advantage of the bargains on offer in the shops or have a light snack. Upon arrival in Calais we commence the drive to Brussels where, we check into the superb Royal Windsor Hotel. After which you will have the rest of the day and evening to explore this exciting city.
