Breakfast at Tiffany's: Monday 14th September. Anna Friel (TV's Pushing Daisies, Lulu Almeida Theatre, Closer Broadway) stars as Holly Golightly with Joseph Cross (Running with Scissors, Milk, Flags of our Fathers) as William 'Fred' Parsons in BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S, Samuel Adamson's new stage adaptation of Truman Capote's classic novella which previews from 9 September.  Sean Mathias directs the second production in his Theatre Royal Haymarket season. Clacton (Sandcastle Competition) Day Trip: Wednesday 12th August. Clacton-on-Sea, the Sunshine Coast of Essex, has lovely sandy beaches, safe sea bathing, water sports, a Victorian pier with undercover amusements & fun fair, Pubs, cafes and Restaurants. This is Carnival week and there is a sandcastle competition on the beach and this may add extra interest to our visit. Price £16.00 adults, £13.00 children

The Railway Children: Wednesday 5th August. York Theatre Royals hit production returns to The National Railway Museum this Summer for a second year, after a sell out run and magical reviews. Join Bobby, Peter and Phyllis as they tell the story of how they became The Railway Children. One of the country’s best loved novels comes to life using a unique theatre setting in the Museum that allows the audience to sit on station platforms either side of a real rail track. Featuring the Stirling Single, a beautiful 60 tonne steam locomotive in one of the most breath taking theatrical events York has ever seen. Coach will depart at 08.30. Wicksteed Park: Wednesday 26th August. As well as having rides and attractions, is also an English Heritage Grade II Listed Park and Garden. A huge variety of themed play areas - swings, see-saws, climbing frames, adventure modules and activities - all designed to keep the kids happily and safely entertained for hours! The Fairground is sited at the top of the Park and offers a range of attractions that are targeted specifically at families with young children up to the age of 13 / 14 years old. The Arena Area contains most of the park's larger rides - like the Paratrooper, Ladybird Coaster, the Roller Coaster and the main NEW thriller - ROCKY RIVER FALLS!!! Running around the outskirts of the Arena Area are our exhilarating Le-Mans style Twin-Seater Racing Cars - capable of top speeds of fifteen miles per hour. Grease: Tuesday 3rd September. London's favourite rock 'n' roll musical, is now in its second electrifyin' year at the Piccadilly Theatre.Voted the No.1 Greatest Musical by Channel 4, GREASE is a timeless love story that will thrill groups of all ages. The stage show features all of the classic songs from the hugely popular movie including Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You, Sandy, Greased Lightnin' and You're The One That I Want. Oliver (Matinee): Wednesday 4th November: Cameron Mackintosh presents his triumphant new staging of Lionel Bart's masterpiece "OLIVER!" at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which was last seen at the Palladium in 1994.  Oliver! is one of the most beloved British musicals, vividly bringing to life Dickens' timeless characters with its ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more.  Rupert Goold (Best Director, 2008 Olivier Awards), will be restaging Sam Mendes acclaimed production, and along with Tony award winning director and choreographer Matthew Bourne will be using every inch of London's greatest musical stage with even more sensational sets by Anthony Ward. Stall seats £66.00 per person. All £63.25 face value seats and coach (which departs Stevenage at 11.30 for 14.30 performance).

Othello: Monday 21st September. The Northern Broadsides and West Yorkshire Playhouse production of OTHELLO, starring Lenny Henry in the title role, will transfer to the Trafalgar Studios from 11 September following a sell-out, regional tour. Love, racism, jealousy and desire are at the emotional core of Shakespeare's monumental tragedy, a tender love story shattered by one man's obsessive hatred of another. OTHELLO is noble, brave and victorious. Iago, passed over for a position in the arm, fuels his diabolical revenge with hatred and snarling racism. Poignant, intense and heartbreaking, OTHELLO mercilessly explores every inch of the human condition. Price £45.00 per person Trafalgar Studios stall seats. Coach will depart Stevenage at 17.15

Ostend day trip with optional trip to The Atlantic Wall: Sunday 26th July. Departing Stevenage at 06.45 this trip will cross the cannel via Le Shuttle and drive directly to Ostend, where you can shop and enjoy the beach or Harbour. For those interested the coach will make an excursion to The Atlantic Wall open-air war museum. On the Raversijde Domain sixty constructions (bunkers, storage facilities, personnel quarters, machinegun nests) dating from both World Wars, interconnected by two kilometres of trenches, can be found. Two different tours are possible in this open-air museum, each taking approximately 90 minutes. Off-season the tours are guided and during the season you can do the tour on your own with an audioguide. The first tour, focussing on the First World War, shows the Aachen Battery (built in 1915). The Aachen battery is the only remaining witness of the German coastal defence during the First World War. It was constructed to defend the Germans against any possible allied landings, the whole coastal strip was supplied with 35 batteries, ranging from light 8,8cm anti-aircraft guns to the heavy 38 cm naval guns. The construction of these coastal batteries by soldiers of the German Naval corps was a real feet of strength. The second (Saltzwedel Battery) tour contains the part that was built during the Second World War. The Atlantic Wall stretches from Norway till the Spanish border, with a length of nearly 5300 kilometres. The Atlantic Wall had to withstand an invasion of occupied Europe by the Allies. The Saltzwedel Battery contains several bunkers with submarine guns, anti-aircraft guns, searchlights and several cannons. Interesting to see here is a pretty large collection of anti-invasion obstacles, accompanied by short but clear descriptions of their working. The museum also posesses a very large collection of mostly original weapons, uniforms and personal belongings. Price £35.00 per person (admission to the museum approx £5.00)

La Cage Aux Folles: Monday 24th August. A timeless and deliciously funny tale of family values, unconditional love and, above all, the need to celebrate who we are. The idyllic existence of Georges and the dazzling drag artiste Albin, star of the La Cage aux Folles club, is threatened when Georges' son announces his engagement to the daughter of a right-wing politician, who wants to close down the local colourful nightlife! With a visit from the prospective in-laws imminent, they all decide to take drastic action to hide their lifestyle...but can they keep it up? - Price £45.00 per person including coach Playhouse Theatre Stall Seats. Forbidden Broadway: Thursday 13th August. An unstoppable force in New York theatre since 1982 when Gerard Alessandrini created the first parody lampooning the Broadway shows and stars of the day. It is a favourite among theatre lovers as well as Broadway stars who have been known to stop by and laugh at themselves! It has won numerous awards in its history including the 2008 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical Revue, the 2006 Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, six additional Drama Desk Awards, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, Obie, and Lucille Lortel Awards. A theatrical institution, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY has received national and international notoriety, racking up over 9,000 performances in more than 200 US cities as well as engagements in London, Tokyo, Singapore and Sydney. This updated version of the show, from Broadway's director Philip George, showcases some of the best productions from both Broadway and the West End, including The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray, Avenue Q, Jersey Boys and La Cage aux Folles! Price £39.00 per person including coach. Priscilla Queen of the Desert: Tuesday 21st July. If you’ve seen the Oscar®-winning movie The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, you’ll know that this spectacular new musical tells the hilarious and heart-warming story of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus (named Priscilla) and take their show to the middle of the Australian outback. Lion King (Matinee): Wednesday 30th September. Calendar Girls: Friday 28th August. At first glance it should look like your classic WI calendar. Jams, cakes, sewing and all that. Except for one tiny thing...the ladies aren't naked, they're nude. Thursford Last Night of the Proms: Tuesday 29th September. Been to the Christmas show and would like something different? Why not come and wave the flag! Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Christmas Celebration Concert: Saturday 12th December. The RPO joins the inimitable John Rutter in his much-loved 'Christmas Celebration' concert. This year marks a welcome return to the magnificent and truly atmospheric Royal Albert Hall. Thursford Spectacular: Sunday 20th December. The ultimate Christmas musical experience is simply one of the most exciting Christmas Spectacular shows ever. Peter Pan: Friday 24th July. This summer, Kensington Gardens plays host to a unique and remarkable theatre event - a spectacular new stage production of J.M.
